Coming aboard (the boring bits)

Please note, these terms encompass all works that involve a paint/lacquer process.

The first step is to contact us via email to book your slot. As we are always busy and depending on the time of year our lead times can be up to 3 months. Contact us for the current waiting time and please plan ahead.

Once we have confirmed your time slot we can then begin to create your new design. Whilst it is down to me to book the time slots please be aware that I was only born with one pair of hands and if you know you are racing in a months time please don't try and book in if you don't have a spare helmet. I have been known to work through the night but I am not getting any younger! :)

On the same note, please try and keep from continually asking for progress reports, trust me I am working on it but I need my hands for spraying, not typing :)

If you get a helmet for a Christmas present please don't phone me Christmas day for a quote (it has happened!), I am human and I have a family as well as a business and whilst it is important to keep my customers happy it is equally important to keep the balance of life.

Sometimes it is as simple as providing us with some pictures of your previous design, then leave it up to us to come up with a fresh updated model. On other occasions you may be starting with a blank canvas. If you have a good idea of what you would like your new design to look like you may wish to download one of our blank design templates. Please feel free to attach examples of any colours or effects you would like us to use in your final design.

Computer Visualisations

If you feel you would like a professional computer image of your new design to see what the finished article will look like, we can take care of this for you. Please provide us with as much information or ideas as possible. Whether it's a written description, or a selection of pictures or effects you like, and we will create the rest!

If there are exact colours required please provide any codes, such as CMYK, Pantone, Car or bike codes. We will do our best to get an exact colour match.

NOTE - if you wish to include sponsors and corporate logos into the design it is your responsibility to obtain the rights to use these. GFX accept no responsibility for using registered logos in an unauthorised way.

Once the design is agreed and painting has started any major change will incur additional costs. (and of course will increase delivery time). This will be charged at £40 per hour including materials. Please remember that any additions once the helmet has been lacquered will involve prepping and re-lacquer even for the smallest addition/change.If after delivery you are unhappy in any way, we are here to help. Please let us know the issue within 10 days of delivery and we will address it. Should it require remedial work then we will do this as soon as possible. Please note, we don't just give refunds, there is always a remedy. If after any remedial work is carried out you are still not satisfied then we will discus further.

Please note, unlike an off the shelf printed design, factory produced, each design is hand crafted and every element applied by hand. To this end, whilst every effort is made to ensure a perfect image there may be the odd undulation or slight step in alignment. This is obviously kept to an absolute minimum but I am human and not a machine. That said, I am immensely proud of my work and that reflects in my repeat customers.

No official stickers, such as the MSA label or the FIA HANS label will be removed (unless permission granted by you in writing). If they are instructed to be removed no responsibility will be held should the helmet then need submitting for testing as a result. If the helmet has HANS posts fitted, these will only be removed and refitted with your written permission. They will be fitted as near as possible to their original position and with lock tight, however they may need adjusting before final use.

I will not be responsible for any repercussions based on this and will only remove them with your written permission.

All paints used are water based so not to damage the helmet. No responsibility will be held for the structure of the helmet once painted, it is your duty to look after it as it will look after you.

As the history of the helmet cannot be known (by me) I cannot guarantee the integrity of it's structure. We are not responsible for any labelling or racing scrutineering on any helmets, as we are happy to supply the service for painting your helmet, GFX are not responsible for removing any stickers or labels from the helmet prior to painting, please check with your helmet rep or scrutineer before committing to the paint work.

We reserve the right to change our terms and conditions without notice.

Helmet should be cleaned with a damp cloth, no abrasive polishes should be used. Remember, this helmet is your signature, it is a piece of art too and should be treated as such. Whilst the lacquer is there to protect the paint it is not bullet proof. Helmet should be kept in a protective lined bag when not in use (or on display in a cabinet!). It is my goal to work very closely with you to provide at the end of the day something that is personal to you and that you are proud to wear. And of course, that you will recommend my work to others.

Graffix Unlimited (GFX) logo will be placed on all our completed work if we have designed and painted it, it is our right to do so. It is our intellectual property and trade mark.

(Once deposit is paid then the process will start, this is not refundable but you will own the design should you wish to take it elsewhere. We are sure you won't but we can only complete this part of the service once the deposit is paid).

Please note this is just a 'visualisation' and a guide to the finished design. Colours are not guaranteed over the web as everyone's monitor has a different profile. Prices Prices depend on the complexity of your design, paintwork generally ranges from £380-£800 (no VAT). Extra costs on top of the paintwork can include the painting of spoiler kits, coloured trims, visor strips etc.

There is an initial deposit of £100 to book your slot; we are unable to confirm your booking until we have received this. This deposit is non-returnable. At the end of the process you will receive your very own high quality work of art. This type of paintwork is expensive and may not suit everyone.

We accept no liability for any loss whatsoever including consequential loss suffered by you arising from product/s we have supplied.

Shipping costs are at your expense please contact us for a quote if required.

Once posted the condition/whereabouts of the goods is beyond our control and we will not take any responsibility for loss or damage.
